HOW DOES IT WORK?
The medicinal plant extracts and essential oils in Nevi No More have the remarkable ability to penetrate into cell membranes to provide a wide spectrum of action against moles. No other topical product can penetrate into cells with the speed and efficiency of pure essential oils. On the other hand, synthetic, laboratory products have not proven themselves on any substantial time scale.
Nevi No More is non-invasive and is almost devoid of negative side effects when applied topically.
The oils are lipophilic, which means that they are soluble in fatty tissue and cell membranes. This allows the oils, which have anti-melanoma properties, to be absorbed into cell membranes and to eradicate moles.
Historically, moles have been treated locally with acid or a chemical solution. These methods are still used today. Dermatologists even treat some cases by cauterization (burning the moles). Surgery is also a common treatment for moles. However, all surgery leaves some scarring. Smaller nevi are sometimes "shaved off", again causing tissue damage. Larger moles create an even greater challenge as they are cut out and the wound sewn together.
A nevus covering larger areas can even be surgically removed in stages. A little more is taken out each time, until the entire nevus is removed. This leaves behind a raw area that is too big to be sewn together and must be covered with a skin graft.
Undoubtedly, the skin-grafted area will have scarring and usually will be thinner and more fragile than normal skin. At times, Melanoma has been known to develop underneath a skin graft, from nevus cells left behind and the pigment often seems to reappear.

ABOUT MOLES
The medical term for moles is Nevi (mole is Latin for "spot"). Nevi are generally clusters of pigmented cells that appear as small, dark brown spots on your torso, face, arms and legs. Moles can come in a range of colors and can develop virtually anywhere on the skin, alone or in groups.
Most people have between 10 and 40 moles, although the number you have may change throughout life. New moles can appear into mid-adulthood, and because moles last about 50 years, some moles may disappear as you age.
According to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, an estimated one out of every ten Americans has at least one atypical mole. These moles are larger than common moles, with borders that are irregular, notched or poorly defined. They may fade into surrounding skin and include a flat portion, level with the skin. These are some of the features that one also sees when looking at a melanoma. Atypical moles also vary in color, ranging from tan to dark brown shades, on a pink background.
When a pathologist looks at an atypical mole under the microscope, it has features that are in between a normal mole and a melanoma. While atypical moles are considered to be pre-cancerous (more likely to turn into melanoma than regular moles), not everyone who has atypical moles gets melanoma. In fact, most moles -- both ordinary and atypical ones -- never become cancerous.

The search for innovative therapeutic approaches, based on the use of new substances, is gaining more interest in clinical oncology.
In this in vitro study the potential antitumoral activity of plant extracts was analyzed against human melanoma M14 WT cells and their drug-resistant counterparts, M14 adriamicin-resistant cells.
Both sensitive and resistant cells were grown in the presence of essential oils… Both the complex oil and its main active component were able to induce caspase-dependent apoptosis of melanoma cells. This effect was more evident in the resistant variant cell population.
Freeze-fracturing and scanning electron microscopy analyses suggested that the effect of the crude oil and of the terpinen-4-ol was mediated by their interaction with the plasma membrane and subsequent reorganization of membrane lipids.
In conclusion, terpinen-4-ol is able to impair the growth of human M14 melanoma cells. It appears to be more effective on their resistant variants, which express high levels of P-glycoprotein in the plasma membrane. It overcomes resistance to caspase-dependent apoptosis, exerted by P-glycoprotein-positive tumor cells"
